Meet Rachel

I believe good Business English is about more than getting the grammar right.

I've spent 30 years teaching and examining English with people from different countries, cultures and professional backgrounds. Along the way, I've become increasingly interested in the relationship between language, confidence, psychology and communication.

I hold an MEd in Psychology of Education (Distinction) and a PGDip in Environment, Health & Wellbeing, and these areas of study have shaped the way I teach.

MY JOURNEY

My career has taken me into some wonderfully varied teaching environments. I've taught English to professionals across Europe, worked with international companies, prepared students for academic and professional exams, and spent many years supporting international footballers and their families at Manchester City.

Alongside teaching, I've worked as a Cambridge English examiner and have also worked in community and environmental projects. These experiences have given me a broad perspective on how differently people use English — and how important it is to adapt learning to the person, their situation and what they actually need to communicate.

After 30 years in language teaching, I'm still fascinated by the same question: what helps people communicate with confidence?

WHY PSYCHOLOGY MATTERS

My background in Psychology of Education has shaped the way I think about learning, confidence and motivation. My more recent studies in Environment, Health & Wellbeing have broadened my interest in wellbeing, connection and the environments in which we learn and communicate.

I don't see these as separate from language learning. They influence the way I work with people and the way I design my lessons.

LANGUAGE · CONFIDENCE · COMMUNICATION

ENGLISH THAT WORKS FOR YOU

You might know your business inside out but find it difficult to explain what you do in English.

You might have the vocabulary but hesitate in meetings.

Or perhaps you simply want your English to sound more natural, confident and professional.

That's where I come in.

My approach is practical, personalised and focused on the situations where you actually need to communicate.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

Outside teaching, I'm happiest when I'm learning something new, getting outdoors, exploring ideas and having good conversations. I'm still fascinated by language and by the different ways people think, communicate and connect — which is probably why, after 30 years, I'm still enjoying what I do.

English. Business. Psychology. Helping you communicate your business with confidence.
